New £35m Redevelopment of Piries Place – Comprising of Cinema, Hotel, Retail Outlets, and Office Units

Project Summary:
The £35m redevelopment of Piries Place in the centre of Horsham included a three-screen Everyman Cinema, built within an existing Waitrose structure and a new 92-bed Premier Inn Hotel. Eight retail and office units of between 3,000 and 4,000 sq. ft. were also created and included a combination of new build and substantial refurbishment.

Meridian Consult provided Building Control Services from initial design for the developer (Reef Estates) before being novated to the main contractor (Gilbert Ash) for the construction phase of the project, through to completion.

• Involvement from early stage of design to construction phase.

• Overcame multi-storey development with issues relating to means of escape and fire-fighting access.
